Guilford Mills used to make fabrics to cover your ride and your hide. Today it focuses on your ride. The textile maker produces fabrics for car and heavy truck cab interiors, from bodycloth to headliners. Its specialty products group manufactures consumer and industrial fabrics, including loop closure fabrics (used in medical braces), window coverings, technical stretch pieces for athletic wear, and, even shoe linings and casket liners (sadly, a promising market). Johnson Controls and Lear Corporation are among its customers. Founded in 1946, Guilford has sales and manufacturing locations in the US, Asia, and Europe.
